I recently spent a long weekend with girlfriends in Charleston, and it was a blast! I know I talk about Charleston a lot, but it’s truly one of the most versatile cities in the southeast - whether it’s a family beach trip or a bachelor(ette) celebration, Charleston has something for every type of trip! It's hard to believe 2017 has already passed! While I'm trying to plan some things for 2018, I always like taking a look back at the previous year and where I was able to go.
In 2017, I traveled to Charleston/Isle of Palms (numerous times), Athens (three times), London (to celebrate my birthday!), Kiawah Island, Winston-Salem, and Orlando/Walt Disney World. Living in the Southeast, hurricanes are commonly on our minds. As a family we’ve traveled to Hilton Head Island, Isle of Palms, and Charleston for as long as I can remember. Isle of Palms and Charleston were both spared, and we breathed a sigh of relief.Read More
I think Charlotte is a pretty great place to live. Regardless of the fact that I grew up here, it’s got many great perks. Not only is it centrally located (and equipped with an international airport), but Charlotte has seen an economic boom lately that doesn’t appear to be slowing down. We have a number of amazing museums, too many breweries to count, and professional sports teams (Go Panthers!). Add in the great concerts we get (Mumford & Sons, Fleetwood Mac, etc.) and the ideal weather (except in the middle of the summer - it is so hot and humid!), and Charlotte really does have a lot. The restaurant scene isn’t too bad either! While I love living here, I also love to get away for a quick weekend. Luckily, because of Charlotte’s location, there are numerous options to do so! Here are my top five weekend trips to take from Charlotte:Read More

Charleston is mainly known for Southern food; including (but not limited to) all things fried. There are a few restaurants that go the traditional route, while others try a modern twist on Southern staples. Here are 5 restaurants I’d highly recommend in Charleston:Read More
