Top Destinations on My List

I’m always planning trips. Sometimes they pan out, sometimes they don't. It's still fun to see what’s out there! Below are the five destinations I’m itching to visit (in no particular order!):

Reykjavik, Iceland

Iceland seems to be the destination of the year, and I don’t see the momentum slowing in 2017! I love cold weather so Iceland has always appealed to me. A chance to see the Northern Lights, visit the Blue Lagoon, and explore the rougher terrain of Iceland has definitely caught my interest. Hopefully I’ll be able to make it to Reykjavik, as well as other more remote areas of the country.

Montreal, Quebec

A touch of Europe in Canada. At least that’s how I imagine Montreal! Again, because I love the cold weather I have been itching to make it up to Canada recently. Montreal seems ideal because it’s not a long flight and is more affordable than a trip across the Atlantic.

St. Thomas, VI

Again, an easy flight from the Southeastern United States! I’ve visited a few islands (Grenada, the Bahamas and Bermuda), but St. Thomas seems like a luxurious escape. As an American citizen I wouldn’t have to go through customs since St. Thomas is part of the US Virgin Islands - talk about a plus!!

Charlottesville, Virginia

Specifically, I’d like to visit Monticello, the main residence of Thomas Jefferson (the 3rd President of the United States). I’ve driven through Virginia plenty of times but never really had the time to stop in Monticello, which is a few miles outside of Charlottesville. I’ve also heard that Charlottesville itself is a nice town. I love any college town, so I’m sure I’d feel at home on the University of Virginia campus!

Nashville, Tennesse

 Centennial Park, Nashville, TN

Centennial Park, Nashville, TN

I’ve actually been to Nashville once but only for about 6 hours. Somehow I haven’t made it back but it’s always been at the top of my list! There’s so much to do in Nashville, it’s hard to even know where to begin. I’d probably start with contacting The Lawyer on Leave (we were neighbors!), followed by planning dinner reservations!

Of course, the list goes on and on, but those are just a few of the spots I’d like to visit. What destinations are at the top of your list?
